Abstract:
The FDA recognizes the growing role of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the drug development lifecycle and across a diverse range of therapeutic areas. These technologies are increasingly used across various stages of drug development, from discovery to postmarket safety surveillance. This talk will cover the landscape of potential and current uses of AI/ML, considerations for the use of AI/ML, and next steps and engagement with industry.
Dr. Rodney Sappington’s groundbreaking research has significantly impacted the landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, particularly in the realms of medical diagnostics, drug discovery, and nanomaterial manufacturing. With over two decades of experience in these fields, he has pioneered innovative methodolgies that have revolutionized early disease detection and therapeutic development. His work has extended in multi-agent-based research in AI Alignment for on capturing the emergence of prosocial and antisocial algorithmic behavior.
One of Dr. Sappington’s notable achievements lies in his adept utilization of deep learning techniques for the early identification of high-mortality diseases. His pioneering approach has not only transformed critical healthcare practices but has also set new standards for the integration of AI in medical applications. By pushing the boundaries of technology, Dr. Sappington has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to tackling pressing healthcare challenges head-on.

Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence technologies like Machine Learning, GenAI and predictive analytics can optimize processes in Life Science manufacturing. We will discuss leveraging AI for real-time monitoring and process control, predictive maintenance and asset optimization, and GenAI Copilot for increasing engineering productivity.
Scott Kobayashi is currently the Sr. VP of Sales at BioPhy, an AI Drug Development company with industry-leading Predictive and Generative AI solutions for the Life Sciences industry. Scott has twenty years of biopharma experience and was previously Sr. VP of Client Delivery at Verista, and prior to that, co-founder and CEO of Delta Project Management, a CQV and Capital Project Management consulting firm.

Niraj Kachhadia has over 15 years of industry expertise in designing and delivering automation and manufacturing IT solutions in life sciences, material handling, Oil & Gas, and chemical industries.
He has MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas at Arlington with focus in Automation & Robotics, and bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control systems from Nirma Institute of Technology, India.
Prior to Rockwell Automation, Niraj held leadership positions at Siemens and Kim Automation Inc.
